The LIFE CLINOMICS project proposes new investment processes for public entities, especially municipalities, as well as private companies in certain representative sectors, in order to reduce their vulnerability and anticipate possible climate impacts, which can improve their competitiveness and increase employment in those sectors. LIFE CLINOMICS aims to increase the resilience to climate change of local Mediterranean entities through intervention in three territories (Terres de l’Ebre, Alt Penedès and Parc Natural del Montseny), and in different economic activities (tourism, fishing, agriculture and forestry sector). For its monitoring, a system of indicators is created to evaluate the impact of the project in the territory and in the target sectors, calculating the values for the base year, and one year after the implementation of actions.

The monitoring system of the Colonial City of Santo Domingo provides the necessary information for a sustainable management of the expected increased number of visitors and tourists in the coming years, enhancing the suitable integration of tourism activities into the city and contributing to urban renewal. It is therefore necessary determine upper limits of tourist affluence and implement optimized management processes.

Design and implementation of the National Tourism Information System, Dominican Republic & Santo Domingo, 2015

The general objective of the program is to boost competitiveness in the Dominican tourism sector through diversification of the current tourism offerings in order to cater to high-spending demand segments, generate greater benefits for the local population, and reduce pressure on the coast. The specific objective is to increase the revenues and jobs generated by tourism in the Colonial City through the development of tourism products that have high competitive potential. To achieve these objectives, the program is organized into three components: (i) development of key tourism offerings; (ii) local integration in tourism development; and (iii) strengthening of tourism management. In this framework, the Component III: Strengthening of Tourism Management envisages the design and implementation of the national tourism information system to provide primary information to support MITUR decision-making and the definition of tourism policies of Dominican Republic, and specifically to Santo Domingo Colonial City.

Creation & Implementation of the Statistical Information System, El Salvador, 2018

Develop a software for the CORSATUR Statistical Information System to provide information for decision-making processes in tourism policies focused on the areas of marketing, promotion and design of new tourism products and services, with the aim of strengthening the investment in the tourism sector of El Salvador. The project aims at the following specific objectives:

  1. That CORSATUR has a tourism information tool to monitor the establishment of investment parameters and tourism development to increase national and international tourism.
  2. That CORSATUR has a system of modules for the administration and management of tourism information for the processes of analysis and decision-making
  3. That CORSATUR has the tourist information required for the development of the Tourism Satellite Account (CST) under the parameters established by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Blumenau, Santa Caterina, Brazil 2017

The overall objective is to improve urban space and sustainable mobility of Blumenau. The specific objectives are: (i) increase the efficiency of traffic system; (ii) development of a balanced and sustainable city level parking policy and management plan (iii) increase access to green areas and social services; (iv) improving safety and security in all modes of transport and reducing the number of accidents; (v) reducing air and noise pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption; (vi); contributing to enhancing the attractiveness and quality of the urban environment and urban design; (vii) improving the resilience of transport networks to extreme weather and natural events; (viii) developing non-motorized vehicle and intermodal transport networks; and (iiix) improve the management of the Municipality transport information system.

SIMCAT – Forecast Model for the Transport System of Catalonia, 2012

SIMCAT (System and Modelization for the Evaluation of Territorial Policies of Catalonia) is an integrated solution for transport planning and decision making support based on Intergraph Geomedia. SIMCAT is the sub-system for modelling and scenario simulation of mobility. SIMCAT includes a model for forecasting demand for mobility and traffic that allows to develop future travel matrices (models of generation, distribution and modal share) and then to obtain traffic on the road network (traffic assignment model), being also in charge of calculating consumption and emissions associated with the use of private cars needed for the evaluation of environmental impacts caused by the implementation of new road infrastructure and major urban projects. SIMCAT also provides time matrices at rush hours.

Impact assessment on the mobility and emissions of the PMMU, Barcelona, 2019

Development of a comprehensive model for assessing the impacts on mobility and emissions of proposals from the Metropolitan Urban Mobility Plan of the AMB, so that these impacts can be evaluated in a territorial manner and, therefore, localize the effects in the territory.

The objective of the project is to update the travel matrix available in the Barcelona traffic model based on the analysis of the available information and the realization of field work corresponding to traffic assessments and origin / destination surveys. Calibration of the network model and analysis of current traffic and accident rate and incidents in the Rounds of Barcelona.
