Client: Metropolitan Transport Authority / Eurecat, Barcelona City Council
The objective is the creation of matrices for daily commutes based on mobile telephony data, in the province of Barcelona. The main source of data corresponds to the mobile phone anonymised records. Each record provides temporal space information of the device each time it interacts with the network. The methodology consists of the analysis of these mobile telephony records and their integration with socio-demographic data, data from the transport network and the supply of transport services, and transport demand data from other sources, to provide information on the activity and the mobility of the population.
